Newark, NJ - September 14, 2009 - Mayor Cory A. Booker, members of the Newark Municipal Council, Police Director Garry F. McCarthy and other dignitaries will join the Sundance Channel for the premiere of the documentary series "Brick City" at Newark Symphony Hall, located at 1030 Broad Street in Newark, on Tuesday, September 15, starting at 5 p.m.
The five-part documentary series puts an illuminating spotlight on the resilient community leaders, civil servants and life-long residents who are committed to making Newark a model for urban renewal in America.
The provocative and eye-opening series, executive produced by Forest Whitaker and filmmakers Marc Levin and Mark Benjamin, will make its television debut on the Sundance Channel on Monday, September 21st, at 10 p.m.
Press arrival will be 4:15 p.m. The red carpet opens at 5 p.m. for the screening.
